Mining department’s safety campaign begins

Jaipur: The Mines safety campaign has started in the state by the Mines Department from Monday. During the campaign, the zone, circle, section, and sub-division officers as well as vigilance officers of the department will inspect at least 15 mining leases and 30 quarry licence areas engaged in mineral mining and production and ensure compliance with mining safety rules and provisions.

Mines Minister Pramod Jain Bhaya said that other officers of the department will also have to visit at least five mining licensees and inspect them. He informed that the department is serious about ensuring 100% compliance of mine safety standards in mining premises and the health protection of mining personnel.

ACS Dr. Subodh Agarwal said that a monthlong campaign to be run by the department from January 23 to February 22 has been started.
