Min Kumawat slams previous govt for neglecting temples

Jaipur: Devasthan Minister Joraram Kumawat criticized previous govt for neglecting temple development. He highlighted that despite 137 approved projects, most were never started, and praised current Bhajan Lal govt for temple development.

Notably, Rs100 crore has been allocated for the Khatu Shyamji Corridor, with 23 temples set for renovation. Kumawat criticized the previous administration for failing to complete announced projects, such as the Govind Devji temple in Jaipur, and reported that many approved projects under the previous govt remained unfinished. Additionally, the current govt has honored 218 saints on Guru Purnima, spending Rs 0.9 lakh, and initiated a scheme for poor families to immerse ashes in the Ganges, providing free travel for over 1 lakh pilgrims. Tree plantations and development projects are underway at temple sites, with plans to link 50 temples to the Tourism Dept’s website and increase online darshan options. He also said that from now onwards stray cows will be known as destitute cattle.
