METRO PROJECTS TO GAIN MOMENTUM VIA JV MODEL

Jaipur: In a significant move towards infrastructure and energy self-reliance, the Council of Ministers, led by CM Bhajan Lal Sharma, approved several significant proposals on Saturday. The cabinet greenlit formation of a Joint Venture (JV) for metro rail projects, in line with the Metro Rail Policy 2017.

This Joint Venture, modeled after successful collaborations in cities like Delhi and Bangalore, will secure financial and technical support from the Central Govt. Energy self-reliance was another focus, with approvals for multiple JVs with Central Govt PSUs. These partnerships, featuring a 26% state stake, will advance both thermal and renewable energy projects. Notably, a Joint Venture with NTPC Green Energy will establish 25,000 MW of renewable energy projects, bringing Rs 1 lakh cr in investment, while another with Power Grid Corp aims to enhance power transmission infrastructure. The council also authorized RVPN to monetize transmission assets via an Infrastructure Investment Trust (InvIT). In healthcare, the council clarified claim settlement processes for employees with both private insurance and RGHS.
