Medical faculty starts new row, seeks to raise consultation fees
Jaipur: The controversy over the Right to Health Bill has not settled down yet and medical teachers have started a new agitation. This time, it is for a 10-point demand letter, including increase in consultation fees. Doctors want that not only their fees for attending patients at home should be doubled, but they should also be allowed to perform private operations. The faculty of all Govt Medical Colleges put on a black band beginning Friday.
Doctors said that in the year 2011, the government had fixed the fees for visiting patients at home, which is still the same despite inflation hitting every sector.
