Masterstroke of BJP leadership: Party apparently in advantage in Rajasthan

Jaipur: The decision of the BJP’s central leadership to field seven MPs in the Rajasthan assembly polls is being considered a major political masterstroke. With this, not only has the electoral equation of regional, caste and weak seats been settled, but a political message has been given to the entire Rajasthan. Political observers believe that with this strategy, BJP can win 20 to 25 seats out of 41 in the first list. It is believed that this move of BJP has forced Opposition to reevaluate its electoral calculations and due to this there is a delay in coming out of Congress list.

BJP has played a big move by fielding Rajput MPs Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore and Diya Kumari on two seats of Jaipur. Rajputs have a huge influence in the social fabric of Rajasthan and they influence the results of about 85 seats. BJP had lost 32 of these seats in the 2018 elections. Apart from being a Rajput, Rajyavardhan has the image of a sportsperson and youth leader, while Diya Kumari is also a former royal family member and woman. Their candidature from the capital will send a positive message about BJP among the Rajput voters across Rajasthan. Along with this, youth and women votes will also be collected.

By fielding Rajya Sabha MP Dr Kirodi Lal Meena from Sawai Madhopur, BJP has won all those seats in Eastern Rajasthan, where Meena voters play a decisive role. Meena voters are influential not only in 40 seats of Sawai Madhopur, Dausa, Karauli, Tonk dists, but also in some seats of Jaipur and Dholpur dists. Kirodi Meena is considered society’s biggest leader. Certainly, East Rajasthan BJP will benefit from this, where party’s performance was weak last time. Along with two Rajputs, BJP has also placed bets on two Jat MPs. By fielding Narendra Kumar from Mandawa, BJP has tried to increase its hold in Shekhawati region, while Bhagirath Choudhary’s candidature from Kishangarh will benefit the party regionally. With candidature of Baba Balak Nath from Tijara, BJP has targeted the entire Mewat region of Raj and has attacked Oppn’s preps to create an equation with Muslims & other castes. Balak Nath has a Hindutva image & people also see the face of UP CM Yogi in him. by making Devji Patel candidate from Sanchore, party will benefit on seats of PaliJalore districts.
