MARKET SHUT POST ACID ATTACK

Jaipur: Two girls suffered burn injuries when a bike-borne miscreant threw acid on them in Jaipur’s Sanganer Sadar area on Saturday. Reacting to the incident, the old market was forced to close down by some youths. Later, the police reached the spot after getting information about the closure.

Police informed both the victims are residents of Chaksu and are teaching at a coaching institute in Vatika area under the Sanganer Sadar Police Station.

“The incident took place when the victims were returning home from the coaching institute. The miscreant threw acid on the victims at two different places. One of the girls sustained burn injuries on the back, while the other girl had injuries on her hand. Both the incidents took place within ten minutes in a radius of three km,” police said.

“CCTV footage is being gathered and cops have launched a manhunt to nab the miscreant,” police added.

Chaksu ACP KK Awasthi said that the girls do not know each other and neither do they know the accused. Both the girls are residents of Chaksu and living in Sanganer Sadar area, they study and teach in coaching centres.
