Man, who was once Pak national, held for spying from Delhi

Jaipur: A 46-year old man born in Pakistan who got Indian citizenship in 2016 was arrested from Delhi by Raj Police for allegedly spying for Pakistan. “The accused Bhagchand (46) was in touch with his Pakistani handler for threefour years and was providing them Indian mobile numbers and SIM cards in lieu of money,” DG Intelligence Umesh Mishra said.

He said that the name of Bhagchand came up during interrogation of another man Narayan Lal Gadri, who was arrested sometime back from Bhilwara and is currently under judicial custody. Bhagchand, who was held in Delhi, obtained several SIM cards and helped the Pak handlers in operating social media accounts in Pakistan on these numbers. He used to share OTP received on some Indian numbers and later dispatched the SIM cards to Mumbai by parcel while concealing them in clothes and packets of spices. Bhagchand’s relatives live in Pakistan and through them he was in touch with the Pak handlers.
