Man gives triple talaq on spot in police station

Jaipur: A man facing dowry harassment case allegedly announced triple talaq to his wife in the presence of policemen in a Jaipur police station. The accused husband had come to the Women’s Police Station (North) to give his statement. During talks with the police, he said that he got married to another girl of his choice and announced triple talaq to his wife in the police station and went away.

The victim filed a case of triple talaq against her husband at Manak Chowk police station. ASI Raish Mohammad is investigating the case.

Police said that 27-yrold woman lodged the report. In Sept 2018, she was married to a 33-year-old man from Bundi. The inlaws started torturing her for dowry & sought Rs 5L.

The Investigating Officer called the couple to Mahila Thana (N). While coming out of IO’s room, the husband pronounced thrice, “Talaq, talaq, talaq.”
