LOCALS FLOCK CITY HERITAGE SITES

Jaipur: On the occasion of World Tourism Day on Tuesday, various cultural programmes were organised at monuments and palaces of the city. The tourists were given a special welcome at heritage sites like Amer Mahal, JantarMantar, Albert Hall, and Hawa Mahal, while chocolates were also distributed to children. As part of cultural programmes, folk dance performances were organised in Jaleb Chowk and Man Singh Mahal of Amer Palace. Similar performances were also held at Hawa Mahal, Jantar Mantar and Albert Hall. A heritage walk was also organised at three places in the city on Tuesday. Superintendent of Amer Palace Pankaj Dhirendra informed that due to free entry of tourists at heritage sites on Tuesday, a large number of tourists visited monuments and palaces. “Domestic tourists came in large numbers and were welcomed by the staff of the archaeology department,” Pankaj Dhirendra said.
