Local Bodies to manage Indira Rasoi operation in rural areas
Jaipur: The state government has handed over the responsibility of operation, control and overall monitoring of Indira Rasoi Yojana in the villages of the state to the Local Self Government Department instead of the Rural Development Department. For this, rural towns have been identified as per the 2011 census.
Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot in this year’s budget speech had announced to implement Indira Rasoi Yojana in rural areas on the lines of cities. According to the announcement, 1000 kitchens will be set up in rural areas.
Under this scheme, 980 kitchens are being operated in cities across the state. In these kitchens, poor and needy people are fed with respect for only Rs 8.
