Liquor contractors & excise dept taint the image of state

Jaipur: Either the excise inspectors have turned a blind eye or the liquor contractors have become dominant that liquor is available 24 hours a day in the state capital.

It appears that liquor contractors in connivance with the officials of the excise department are running a campaign to taint the image of Jaipur, which is famous as ‘Laghu Kashi’.

Liquor shops are supposed to close at 8 pm but even after the closing time, not only liquor is being sold openly, but over rate is being charged, up to Rs 65. This sting operation of First India News has exposed the truth.

A total of 404 shops are approved by the excise department in Jaipur. IMFL, beer and country made liquor are sold under the composite arrangement at these liquor shops.

As per the rules, this liquor shop can be opened only from 10 am to 8 pm. The name of the licensee, the rate of liquor available, POS machine, CCTV camera and the name of the concerned District Excise Officer and his mobile number should be mentioned on these shops.
