Kothi’ by Kedia for some, ‘Lathi’ by Kedia for some others!
Jaipur: Jaipur city’s real estate market has yet again gained momentum these days after a lull of over two years, caused due to Covid. However, with this, cases related to illegal occupation of tenants’ lands also seem to be increasing.
In this connection, an alleged major ‘con’ has been done by a renowned builder of the Pink City. These days you must be listening to actor Akshay Kumar’s voice on Radio FM asking everyone to buy a Kothi at a wonderful location of Jaipur for merely Rs 30 lakh. ‘Akshay Kumar’ is selling this builder’s project, but is this the voice of Akshay Kumar? There is also a lot of forgery in this builder’s project as the builder has fooled its customers by encroaching upon farmers’ land worth crores of rupees near Talai Wale Bhomia ji temple wherein, the builder even went to the length of showing a 160 feet wide sector road as merely of 30-40 feet wide, thereby using the remaining width of the road for own ‘purpose’.
Notably, the farmers had been running from pillar to post to get justice and after First India highlighted their plight, now ACP Jhotwara went to the spot where he found that over a hundred ‘bouncers’ have been ‘housed’ at the location, after which the Kalwar SHO has been given investigation of the matter.
These days Kedia Builder’s ‘Kothi by Kedia’ project in the Kardhani police station area of Jaipur city is the ‘hot topic’ of discussion among people and real estate traders alike. The tenants of the land have now accused the Kedia builder claiming that the builder has occupied their valuable land worth crores with the connivance of the land mafia and the police. Moreover, the farmers claim that 11 bigha 16 biswa land was sold by the farmers to one Bhairu Yadav. This land was sold by Bhairu Yadav to Nitin Kedia, the owner of Kothi by Kedia. It is also alleged that with the connivance of JDA officials and fake documents, the map of Kothi by Kedia was approved by JDA officials for 18 bighas of land in a fake manner.
In the meantime, Kedia launched his project by purchasing 65 bighas of land from other tenants. However, the cultivators say that Khasra No. 2227/1, which on papers is claimed to be 14 bighas 4 biswa of land was registered by Kedia, but there is 9 bigha 8 biswa land on the spot. And to complete his 14 bigha land, Kedia used the police, land mafia and more than 100 bouncers were called on the spot to illegally take possession of the said land.
When the farmers objected, force was used and elderly, women and even children were beaten with batons. The builder’s bulldozer went to raze the existing structures and it was then that an elderly sat in front of the heavy machine, without worrying about his life. But the farmers were still subjected to more aggression as more force was called in and in the process of removing the farmers from the said land, a scuffle took place wherein, the cops beat the farmers resulting in injuries to them. But that is not all. While several farmers braved injuries and even had to undergo operation to fix their bones, cops filed cases on them for obstructing state work and other sections.
And now all eyes are on the investigation by Kalwar police as farmers hope to get justice. But perhaps an even bigger question remains unanswered: Will the JDC take cognizance in the matter?
Interestingly, when First India tried to talk to Nitin Kedia, the owner of Kedia builders, he denied making any comment on the issue, rather asked to contact the police in the matter. The manner in which all incidents have been planned & the way Nitin Kedia has responded, makes one suspect & wonder if Nitin has ‘handed’ the entire issue to Kardhani police on contract! Now a question is being asked in relevant circles of real estate market and UDH whether a no- nonsense and plainspeak UDH Minister Shanti Dhariwal has also come under the influence or pressure of Kedias?
