KINGPIN AMONG 7 HELD IN DELHI FOR ROBBING CITY FLOUR TRADER

Jaipur: Police have arrested seven miscreants, including the mastermind in a Rs 1.25 crore robbery case at the house of a flour trader. They posed as Income Tax officers and robbed the trader. The leader of the gang, Sanjay Panchal and others were caught from New Delhi. Of the seven people arrested, one is a woman. All the seven arrested were produced in the court on Monday and were sent to police remand for two days.

Additional Police Commissioner Ajay Pal Lamba said that Rs 9 lakh cash and some gold and silver jewellery have been recovered from the accused. He said, “The mastermind supervised the entire incident from the national capital. About two months ago, a recce of the area in Jaipur was done. Two of them had gone to the house of flour trader, Satyanarayan Tambi, as electricians then.” On August 24, the flour trader’s house on Anaj Mandi Road was robbed of cash worth Rs 60 lakh and 1.5 kg gold ornaments. Mastermind Sanjay is the president of Panchal Mahasabha in New Delhi. Sources said that the miscreants used a stolen car in the robbery. The Jaipur Commissionerate Police tracked the car, which led to the mastermind. Subsequently, he was arrested.
