Khatu Shyamji stampede: CM directs for tight security arrangements in religious fairs & festivals
Jaipur: Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has described the incident at Khatushyam Ji Temple in Sikar as sad and unfortunate. “The religious places of Rajasthan are the centers of faith in the whole country. In the religious places here, apart from annual festivals, fairs, lakhs of devotees from different states including Rajasthan come to visit every month,” Gehlot said and directed the administration and police officers to ensure adequate security arrangements in the religious places and the surrounding area.
The Chief Minister chaired a meeting organized at the Chief Minister’s residence on Wednesday Evening regarding security management in fairs and festivals at various places in the state. He said that by making strong corridors for pedestrians in religious places, their safety should be ensured. Guidelines should be given to the committees of religious places to ensure safety, he stressed.
