Khandela’s Kajodmal gives life to 4, heart transferred via green corridor

Jaipur: The campaign of organ donation has again gained momentum in the biggest SMS hospital in the state. 46-year-old brain dead Kajodmal resident of Khandela gave new life to four needy people before leaving his life. The kidneys were transplanted in SMS hospital on Monday while the liver was sent through green corridor to Mahatma Gandhi Hospital and the heart was transplanted to a female patient at Medanta Hospital in Delhi. On December 27, Kajodmal was brought to SMS Trauma Centre after a road accident and was declared brain dead on December 1. Hospital Superintendent Dr. Achal Sharma, Senior Neurosurgeon Dr. Devendra Purohit, Dr. Chitra Singh, Transplant Coordinator Ramratan Khanakwal, Tarachand Saini, Leelam Singh interacted with the family members and explained them to donate organs. The efforts were successful and after the consent of the family members, the process started Monday morning to transplant the patient’s active organs to the needy
