Justice Shinde to take over as Raj HC CJ for a month!

Jaipur: Bombay HC Judge Justice Sambhaji Shiwaji Shinde will now be the Chief Justice of the Rajasthan High Court after the Supreme Court Collegium approved Centre's approval on recommendations sent to the Centre for the appointment of Chief Justices in the 5 HCs of the country. Justice MM Srivastava is currently working as Acting CJ after retirement of Justice Akil Kureshi.

Shinde will retire on August 1, 2022 as such his tenure of Rajasthan CJ will be for only one month. Born on August 2, 1960, Justice Shinde started practicing as an advocate in the Bombay HC from November 1989 after completing his LLB from Marathwada University, Aurangabad. At the same time, he was later appointed as Additional Public Prosecutor by Govt of Maharashtra.

On April 9, 1987, he was enrolled as an advocate on roll of the Bar Council of Maharashtra and Goa and started practice as an advocate in Aurangabad Bench of Bombay HC.

On October 29, 1997, Govt of Maharashtra appointed him as Additional Govt Advocate to present his case in SC. On May 16, 2002, he was authorised to present his case in SC, appointing him as the in-charge Government Advocate. After this he was appointed as Additional Judge of Bombay HC on March 17, 2008 and later as Permanent Judge.
