Jpr RTO to remain open despite holiday, to give e-RC & e- licence

Jaipur: Despite today being a local holiday on the occassion of Sheetla Ashtmi in Jaipur, both RTO offices will remain open as the transport department will roll out e-RC and e-driving licence systems today. Work will be done in both RTO offices of Jaipur. Only work related to RC and DL will be done. Now e-DL and e-RC will be issued in place of smart cards in transport offices.

With this new system, applicants will not have to pay Rs 200. New driving licences, vehicle registration certificates and related services like renewal, finance hypothecation, etc. have been included in the new system.in last few years attempts have been made by the department of transport to make it eaiser for the people to get their licences without much hassle.

Earlier, it was stated in a notification that starting April 1, the transport department will issue e-RC and e-licence in place of smart cards. These will be available in PDF format on the applicants’ mobile phones. One can take its printout from the e-Mitra kiosks in the offices.

However, applicants who have paid online fees for driving licence smart cards will get a refund from the department. The transport department is also collecting data of applicants who have made online payments.
