Journos demand protection, take out march

Jaipur: The journalists on Tuesday took out a protest march from Pink City Press Club to the State Assembly demanding the implementation of the Journalist Protection Act. The protesting scribes from all over Rajasthan later staged a sit-in near the assembly. The protestors said that journalists are often threatened and the government must protect the fourth pillar of democracy. Later, Food and Civil Supplies Minister Pratap Singh Khachariyawas met the agitating journalists and said that the media of Rajasthan works very positively and every possible step will be taken for the security of journalists. Following the assurance of the minister, the journalists called off their protest.
