Journalists’ struggle bears fruit; toll plaza staff changed for assault on a journalist

Jaipur: Succumbing to the sentiments of journalists and the general public in the wake of a recent brutal attack and misbehavior with a journalist and his wife by toll plaza employees, the Nation Highway Authority of India (NHAI) put pressure on the Ridhi Sidhi Associates --the company that was manning the toll plaza-- and the latter has sublet the toll plaza to another company Mahadev Project.

Mahadev Project’s manager Deepak Verma assured that now there would be no more complaints of misbehavior with the commuters by the toll plaza staff, nor would the vehicle owners face any inconvenience.

Chomu Press Club president Jitendra Rangey said that the local journalists had ran a campaign on Twitter, Facebook, WhatsApp, and other social media about the incident of the attack on the journalist and had urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari to terminate the contract of the company managing the toll plaza.
