JMCG launches helpline to save birds from manjha

Jaipur: In a unique initiative, the Greater Corporation Mayor Dr Somya has launched a helpline number to provide assistance and treatment for birds injured by kites and manjha during the kite flying festival of Makar Sankranti. The helpline number is 0141-2742181.

Mayor Dr Somya told that on the occasion of Makar Sankranti festival, the helpline will be operational from 7 am to 7 pm for the next four days at the corporation HQs for the help and treatment of birds injured by kites and manjha. As per her, on this helpline, citizens will be able to provide information about the birds injured due to kite flying.

Commissioner Mahendra Soni told that a large number of kites are flown on Makar Sankranti and birds get injured from the manjha. For their treatment, the JMCG has started a helpline, on which the information received by the Corporation will be made available to NGOs.

The teams from the NGOs will immediately go to the field and treat the birds.
