JDA turns a blind eye as illegal colony emerges in ecological zone
Jaipur: In violation of Rajasthan high court ruling, plots in an illegal residential colony named Narayan Vihar in ecological zone on Agra Road are being sold. Narayan Enclave is emerging on 40 bighas of agricultural land in Govindpura (Ropada village) within ecological zone. Plots are being marketed using leases issued by Pratap Nagar Housing Cooperative Society, despite lack of legal approval.
Officers of JDA and its enforcement branch are reportedly aware of these illegal activities but have yet to take action.
The colony is located near the Rajasthan Housing Board’s Indira Gandhi Nagar Scheme, with land cleared for development and boundary walls erected around the site. Infrastructure work is underway, including the laying of drinking water pipes and marking roads of 30 and 40 feet.
Commercial plots are being prominently positioned at the front, with a 100-square-yard plot priced at Rs 1.5 crore behind two shops. Residential plots range from Rs 35,000 to Rs 50,000 per square yard, depending on road size. There are 683 residential plots available in sizes from 100 to 222 square yards, alongside 40 commercial plots of 100 square yards.
