JDA to review zonal plans to provide relief

Jaipur: In a major relief to house owners, the Building Map Committee of JDA has decided to review all the zonal plans. Following this decision, many houses that faced the threat of demolition because of being close to main roads will get relief.

Notably, during the previous BJP government, the JDA had in 2018 finalised 17 Zonal Development Plans for 3,000 square kilometre area in the district. This was followed by a major High Court order delivered on January 12, 2017 in the Gulab Kothari episode maintaining that no registration, land transfer and land use conversion can be undertaken without the implementation of these Zonal Development Plans.

However, it has now come to fore that JDA rushed into preparing these development plans and ignored several vital points and regulations.
