JDA to connect southern parts of city to Agra road

Jaipur: The Jaipur Development Authority has started an exercise to materialize a road project which has been on paper for nearly 27 years.

The proposed road will connect southern parts of the city with Agra road which will not only reduce the distance by 10 to 12 km but will also ease traffic congestion on the Agra highway.

JDA had proposed the Bassi Jagatpura Link Road in 1996. This 200 feet wide road is also in the master plan of Jaipur city. Several times after the year 1996, the file moved but the matter got stuck due to lack of concrete planning for land acquisition and compensation in lieu of acquisition.

CM Ashok Gehlot announced the construction of Bassi Jagatpura Link Road in his budget speech for the year 2022- 23. After this, JDA has also sent the proposal of land acquisition under the new Land Acquisition Act to the district administration.
