JDA faces resistance as encroachment drive continues

Jaipur: The Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) faced resistance from local traders as it resumed its encroachment clearance drive from Khatipura Tiraha to Lata Circle on Thursday. Despite efforts by JDA and police officials to explain the necessity of the operation, tensions rose among the affected parties. Nevertheless, JDA successfully removed 220 encroachments along the stretch from Jharkhand Tiraha to Purani Chungi Queens Road. This extensive operation, spanning a 4 km radius, targeted platforms, stairs, stalls, and debris that impeded traffic flow.

Initiated on July 15, this drive aims to alleviate congestion on Jaipur’s main and sector roads. To date, 1855 encroachments have been cleared. The campaign, scheduled to continue until July 30, has elicited mixed reactions from the community.
