It’s responsibility of state government to give platform to sports talents: CM

Jaipur: The CM Ashok Gehlot said that it is a proud moment for thousands of sportspersons to show their talent in the field simultaneously in gram panchayat & urban wards of each district of state.

“All of us together have created a sports history in front of the country. In the direction of sports promotion, the organization of Rajiv Gandhi Rural and Urban Olympic Games-2023 will set new records. These games will now be organized every year,” he said while formally inaugurating the Rajiv Gandhi Rural and Urban Olympics-2023 at SMS Stadium on Saturday.

He handed over the sports torch to the players and got them lit. Along with this, the players were also administered an oath to play with sportsmanship and honesty. He said that it is our responsibility to give platform and respect to the talents. There will be no shortage in this.

The CM said that Rajiv Gandhi Rural Olympic Games were organized last year to create sports environment on a large scale in the state. In this, about 30 lakh players of every category and age had registered. This number reaching 58.51 lakh this time is a record.
