IT raids: Cash worth Rs 1 cr, jewelery worth Rs 1.90 cr seized

Jaipur: In the Income Tax raids started from Monday by the IT department’s Investigation Branch at 10 locations in Jodhpur and Delhi, the officials have so far claimed to have seized undisclosed income of Rs 180 crore.

The teams raided at seven locations and action was taken at three. On the third day i.e. Wednesday, the department completed the action at another location. Income tax raids continued till late night at three residences of the directors of PWD. In the action, the officials detected more than 15 shell companies through which expenses were reported to understate the income. Apart from this, till now the departmental officers have seized cash worth Rs 1 cr and jewellery worth Rs 1.90 cr after not getting satisfactory answers.
