IT department seizes jewellery worth Rs 50 cr

Jaipur: The IT sleuths have completed the evaluation of jewellery seized during raids in Pali, Pipliya Kalan and Jodhpur. As per the information received so far, the officials have estimated the value of the jewelery to be around Rs 50 crore.

The jewellery that has been recovered is of gold and silver, which is also studded with precious stones and was seized from all the three groups. Income Tax officials did not find any more cash in the investigation on Friday, the amount of cash seized still remained above Rs 3 crore 25 lakh.

Apart from the cash, the officials have also seized foreign currency worth about Rs 15 lakh.
On Friday, the dept ended raids at 5 locations and it is now continuing at 6 locations in the three cities of the state, Pali, Pipliya Kalan and Jodhpur till late Friday night.
