INSTANT JUSTICE A GRAND JUDICIAL RECIPE!

Jaipur: In a significant push to address judicial delays, Chief Justice of India, DY Chandrachud, has initiated a proactive campaign. His recent correspondence with High Court Chiefs, seeking information on cases pending verdicts for over three months, underscores a dedicated effort to streamline the legal process. This commendable endeavor aims to ensure timely justice for all, alleviate backlog, and maintain the core principle of swift legal recourse.

Following CJI Chandrachud’s proactive stance, First India reached out to retired sessions judge of Rajasthan, Judge Ganpat Singh Bhandari. Remarkably, Judge Bhandari has an unparalleled record of not reserving a single judgment in the last two decades. “I delivered judgments promptly, often before noon, without any delay for the next day, for a continuous period of 20 years,” shared Judge Bhandari. He further elaborated on his practice of concluding final arguments and promptly issuing judgments on cases ranging from serious offenses like murder and rape to civil matters such as divorce and rent disputes, all within the same day.

The media has hailed Judge Bhandari’s swift judicial work, with some reports even suggesting that his remarkable efficiency could qualify him for the Guinness World Records. This recognition serves as a testament to his unwavering commitment to expeditious justice delivery, further highlighting the pressing need for systemic reforms to address judicial delays effectively.
