Implement Fastag for toll collection across all state toll booths: Diya

Jaipur: Dy CM and PWD Minister Diya Kumari, chairing the RSRDC Board Meeting on Wednesday, instructed officials to implement Fastag for toll collection across all state toll booths and to install rate boards at every location. She said that adopting Fastag would ease the process for the public. During the meeting, Diya Kumari also approved key proposals to enhance the toll policy. She noted that new amendments are expected to boost competition among toll contractors and streamline the toll tax collection process, leading to increased revenue.

Several aspects of the current toll policy have been updated to reflect contemporary needs. Notably, the registration requirement for contractors has been removed, allowing a greater number of bidders to participate in the tender process. The contract duration for toll collection has been shortened from two years to one year, with an extension option of up to three months. A penalty of Rs 1 lakh per violation has been introduced for non-compliance with the rules. These changes are aligned with NHI regulations.
