‘Illegal immigrants will not be allowed to violate citizens’ rights’
Jaipur: Following the report on the increasing presence of illegal Rohingyas published in ‘First India,’ MLA Gopal Sharma visited the slums in the Civil Lines area on Wednesday. Sharma stated that he will not allow immigrants to infringe on the rights of Jaipur residents. He accused some individuals of illegally settling Rohingyas to strengthen their vote bank, a move he described as a plot to create chaos in the city for personal gain. The BJP government will not let such plans succeed, he said. Sharma also instructed police and administrative officials to stay on high alert, monitor illegal settlements, and check Aadhaar cards and other documents to track criminal involvement in Rohingya areas.
On Wednesday, Sharma toured slum areas in the Civil Lines region, including Gopi Vihar, Sultan Nagar, Jai Bharat Nagar, and Baba Ramdev Nagar in the Gurjar Ki Thadi area, as well as Panchvati Colony, Durga Vistar, and Park View Colony in the Hassanpura region, from where complaints have been received. The growing Rohingya population and the establishment of new slums in Jaipur are concerning.
He pledged to provide a detailed report on Rohingya infiltration to the government and party leaders and ensure strict action against illegal settlements. Sharma also thanked ‘First India’ for prominently covering the issue.
