IAS Shrestha Shri Begins Her Journey In Rajasthan’s Bureaucracy
Jaipur: Rajasthan has a new female IAS officer, Shrestha Shri, from the 2022 batch. She got her cadre transferred from Tripura to Rajasthan and gave her joining to the DoP last week. Currently, she has been kept on APO by the DOP. The reason for her cadre change is her marriage to Rajasthan’s young IAS officer Mridul Singh (2020 batch), which took place just four months ago in August 2024. Mridul Singh is currently serving as the CEO of Bharatpur Zila Parishad.
A native of Dhanbad, Shrestha Shri secured an AIR 444 in UPSC exam and was initially allotted the Tripura cadre. Shrestha, who has a keen interest in Political Science, completed her schooling at Miranda House in Delhi before obtaining a Master’s degree from JNU. Interestingly, Rajasthan’s retired IAS officer Rakesh Verma, who was a specialist on the UPSC Interview Board she appeared before, asked her an intriguing question about the saree she was wearing during the interview. Shrestha explained that the fabric of the saree was silk. During the 30-minute interview, Shrestha answered all the questions confidently. It is expected that when the 9 IAS officers from the 2022 batch, who are currently on APO, after providing services for two months during the Rising Rajasthan Summit, will receive their postings soon and Shrestha will be given a posting alongside them.
