I-T raids conclude: Dept claims Rs 175 cr undisclosed income

Jaipur: In the matter related to irregularities in Mid Day Meal, the Income Tax Department has now started the operation to search the bank lockers. Income Tax team investigated at SBI branch located at Central Spine, Vidyadhar Nagar. More than 15 different bank lockers belonging to Kamaljit Ranawat, Satish Moolchand Vyas and other groups were searched. However, bank officials said that this is not a big action.

Meanwhile, the raids in four states at the locations of MoS Home Rajendra Yadav and his relatives that lasted for four days, have revealed a large number of undisclosed income of Rs 111 crore and tax evasion. During the raids, the Income Tax Department found more than 20 bank lockers. The Income Tax Department claims that more than Rs 175 crore undisclosed income may have been detected in the raids. However, the search work is almost complete. Yadav group has also accepted undisclosed income of about Rs 110 crore. Simultaneous raids were conducted at more than 53 locations in four states.
