I-T raids at 2 hotel groups in Udpr, lockers being scanned

Jaipur: The Income tax department has started opening the lockers found during raids at two big hotel groups of Udaipur and their business associates related to destination weddings. Cash, jewellery and investment documents were found in lockers. The cash seized until late Thursday is more than Rs 5 crore.

Raids were conducted at 30 locations in Udaipur and 2 locations each in Mumbai and Kolkata. The department started the raids on Wednesday. Raids are being conducted on Fateh Group and Rock Wood Groups of Udaipur.

Kelwa family is the owner of Fateh Group and Jitendra Rathore is the CEO of Fateh Group of Hotels. Raids were conducted on the residence of Rock Wood Group director Somesh Aggarwal also. Besides, an event manager, tent house, sound services, travellers and people associated with catering business are also suspects. Many documents of cash payment for services in the wedding ceremony were also recovered. Income Tax Department's investigation branch is conducting raids.
