I-T dept hits revenue collection target

Jaipur: The financial year 2023-24 has been great for the Income Tax Department of the state as it has collected Rs 31,630 crore revenue till March 31, which is 102.36 percent as compared to the revised target of Rs 30,900 crore allocated to the department.

This has come as a relief to the department officials and employees. According to sources, the total collection of the department till March 31 has increased from Rs 30,700 crore last year to Rs 31,630 crore.

Although the growth of collection has not been exceptionally high, despite the low growth in the income of the major taxpayers of the state, the income tax officers consider the achievement of the target as quite a major success.

It is expected that the income of the taxpayers in the state will increase further in this financial year, which will also have a positive impact on the revenue.
