Hotel lobby in Ranthambore gets a jolt

Jaipur: In an important decision on Monday, state govt has issued an order to stop full day and half day safaris in Ranthambore Tiger Reserve with immediate effect. The decision has stirred up the hotel lobby of Ranthambore, while wildlife lovers are considering it as a bold decision of the government which will help in protection and conservation of wildlife.

Forest and Environment Minister Hemaram Choudhary signed the file to stop full day and half day safari in Ranthambore and Principal Secretary, Forest and Environment Department Shikhar Agrawal directed to implement these orders with immediate effect. Due to increasing human intervention in the core forest area, the sightings of tigers were decreasing and tigers started coming out of forest area more often. Hailing the state govt’s decision, wildlife enthusiasts suggested that this should also be implemented in Jhalana and Amagarh Leopard Safari as well.
