Home voting begins, brings smile to elderly and differently-abled
Jaipur: Under the first phase of the Lok Sabha Elections, home voting started on Friday in 12 Lok Sabha constituencies of the state. CEO Praveen Gupta said that voters above 85 years of age and more than 40% disabled voters have been given home voting facilities by the ECI.
Kamala Devi, a resident of Bani Park, Jaipur, said, “I am able to vote while sitting at home. This innovation will infuse a new energy among the elderly towards elections.” Another 87-year-old voter NR Mathur said that he was very happy with the ECI’s initiative. The voting process for home voting will be till April 13. If any voter is left out, the second phase will be held on April 15 and 16.
