HINDU GROUPS-LED BANDH OBSERVED IN JPR

Jaipur: The protest against the murder of the tailor in Udaipur was also seen in the capital Jaipur. Markets all across Jaipur, including the walled city region, remained closed since Thursday morning. The Jaipur Business Federation also gave voluntary support to the bandh call of various Hindu organisations. While the wide-ranging effect of the market shutdown was seen in the market of walled city, there was a mixed effect of the bandh in markets in other area of the city.

Along with the BJP city officials, the workers also roamed the market and got the shops closed, while in Chandpole market, BJP city president Raghav Sharma took out a foot march and raised slogans against the incident. Jaipur Trade Federation President Subhash Goyal said that the Jaipur market is completely closed in protest against the Udaipur incident and traders have given voluntary support to the bandh.

According to a rough estimate, 80 per cent shops, outside of the walled city, remained closed in Jaipur. Through the day various teams of VHP, Bajrang Dal, Durga Vahini organisations, amongst others, were involved in getting shops closed however, exemption was given to shops related to emergency and essential services like dairy and medical.
