High Court postpones RCA election

Jaipur: The elections of the Rajasthan Cricket Association have been postponed. A petition was filed in the High Court on behalf of the District Cricket Associations regarding election officer Ram Lubhaya. After hearing the petition, the High Court has postponed the elections of Rajasthan Cricket Association. On the other hand, the matter will be heard again on Friday on various pending issues including Lokpal. The nomination papers for Rajasthan Cricket Association were filed on Sept 26, whereas Thursday was the last day for withdrawal of nominations. At the same time, voting was to be held on September 30 and the result was to be released after that. But a day before the election, the High Court has postponed the election. In fact, for the elections to be held on September 30, retired IAS officer Ram Lubhaya was made the Chief Electoral Officer. On this, a complaint was filed in the court against Ram Luhya on behalf of Nandu group in which he said that Ram Lubhaya has been given an office of profit by the Rajasthan government. Since, the son of Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot is contesting the RCA elections, due to this there is every possibility that Ram Lubhaya will benefit the Chief Minister’s son. In such a situation, the elections should be postponed till a fair election officer is appointed. On this, the court has ruled to stay the election.
