Heritage Corporation signs Rs 192 cr MoU for waste-to-energy plant
Jaipur: In a significant move, Jaipur Municipal Corporation Heritage, under Commissioner Arun Kumar Haseeja, has cleared the path for an ambitious project to produce electricity from waste. The project will be operated by Jindal Urban Waste Management Company.
An MoU was signed on Friday at the corporation headquarters between Commissioner Arun Kumar Haseeja, officials from the Jindal Group, and Power Finance Corporation. The Jindal Group will invest approximately RS 350 crore in the project’s operation, while Power Finance Corporation Limited, a Government of India enterprise, will provide loan assistance of Rs 192 crore.
The Heritage Corporation will receive a royalty of Rs 66 per tonne of waste under the project.
