Head constable held with Rs 15,000 bribe, SHO flees

Jaipur: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Saturday arrested a head-constable while accepting a bribe of Rs 15,000. Police informed the head-constable was taking bribes on behalf of the Virat Nagar Police Station SHO. However, the SHO fled from the spot during the ACB action.

Director General (ACB) BL Soni informed the head-constable, Naresh Kumar Sharma, is posted at Virat Nagar Police Station in Jaipur (Rural). He is also the reader of Virat Nagar SHO Kailash Chand Meena.

“Complainant filed a complaint with the ACB stating that the SHO is demanding a bribe of Rs. 20,000 for helping him in a case. The complaint was verified and a trap was laid. On Saturday morning, headconstable Naresh Kumar Sharma was caught red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs. 15,000. As soon as the SHO became aware of the ACB trap, he fled from the police station. The SHO is being searched at various locations,” said BL Soni.
