Guv: Nagaland has preserved tribal heritage of India

Jaipur: On the occasion of Nagaland State Foundation Day, Governor Kalraj Mishra interacted with the residents of Nagaland at Raj Bhavan on Friday on various issues. He said, “Nagaland came into existence as the 16th state of India on December 1, 1963. This state is a naturally rich state associated with the tribal pride of Indian culture. Nagaland is a beautiful state surrounded by Arunachal Pradesh in the north-east, Manipur in the south and Assam in the west and north-west and Myanmar (Burma) in the east. He said that this state, rich in tribal traditions, has also preserved the tribal heritage of India.” While interacting with the students of Nagaland, he also sought information about their cultural traditions and performing arts.

Mishra said that the aim of celebrating the foundation day of the states under ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ is that one state can connect deeply with the culture of the other state. Before this, the Governor got the Preamble and Fundamental Duties of the Constitution read out. Principal Secretary to the Governor, Subir Kumar was also present on the occasion.
