Govt working to make farmers prosperous: CM

Jaipur: Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma said on Friday that farmers are the food providers of the country. “Apart from feeding crores of countrymen, they also contribute significantly to the economy of the country and the state. In line with the resolve of PM Modi, the state govt is working with commitment to improve the living standards of farmers and bring prosperity to their homes,” Sharma was addressing the felicitation and gratitude ceremony by farmers for the historic announcements related to agriculture in the Revised Budget-2024-25 at the CMR on Friday. He said that the state government is also working dedicatedly to make farmers prosperous. “As soon as the govt was formed, we made a historic agreement with the Center and MP Government for the very important ERCP scheme for eastern Rajasthan. Along with this, Yamuna Water Agreement was also given a concrete shape to quench the thirst of Shekhawati region, whereas the previous government never even corresponded with Centre and Haryana Govt in this regard. Decisions like increasing the Kisan Samman Nidhi from Rs 6,000 to Rs 8,000 & increasing MSP of wheat and giving loan up to Rs 1L through Gopal Credit Card for cattle rearers are a symbol of our farmer & cattle rearer friendly policy,” the CM said.
