Govt ensuring participation of women in development, good governance: CM

Jaipur: Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Friday said that many schemes of the state government are women centric, which shows its commitment towards holistic development. The state govt is ensuring that the participation of women is maximum in the development and good governance of the state. He said that in the last 3 years, 52 announcements have been made by the govt in the budget for the welfare of women and girls. Gehlot on Friday launched ‘Mahila Nidhi’ for the social and Economic development of women on Women’s Equality Day. With this, apart from everyday necessities, easy credit will be available to them for business expansion and entrepreneurship.

The CM said that in the budget 2022-23, it was announced to establish ‘Mahila Nidhi’ through Rajasthan Rural Livelihood Development Council. Rajasthan is 2nd state in the country after Telangana, where Mahila Nidhi has been established, he added. He said that at present 2.70L SHGs have been formed in 33 districts, where 30 lakh families are connected. In the financial year 2022-23, 50,000 self-help groups are proposed to be formed, in which about 6L families will be connected. A total of 36 lakh families will get benefits from Rajasthan Mahila Nidhi in a phased manner.
