Govt employees can’t be left at share market’s mercy: CM

Jaipur: Replying to the discussion on the Governor’s address in the State Assembly, CM Ashok Gehlot on Thursday said that the employees of the government cannot be left at the mercy of the share market where funds of the National Pension Scheme (NPS) are invested.

He said that the Centre is not giving us funds deposited in the NPS. If they will not give then the State government will move to the Supreme Court.

Referring to the Adani Group’s recent share price downfall in the share market, Gehlot said that there is turmoil in the country and abroad and the entire share market has fallen, including the shares of LIC and SBI that have given loans.

“Employees are our brothers and we cannot leave them at the mercy of the share market. Shares of Adani Saab have fallen and there is turmoil in the entire country and abroad. All shares that have given loans have fallen, including SBI and LIC,” Gehlot said.

Gehlot said that the entire NPS fund is being pumped into the share market and this argument was given by the state government when it implemented the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) in the state.

He demanded Prime Minister Narendra Modi to answer why he wants NPS to remain implemented. Chiranjeevi scheme is proving to be a boon for the people of the state,” he said.

Targeting BJP’s Jan Aakrosh Rally, Gehlot said, “There was no anger anywhere in your public protest. There was neither Jan nor Aakrosh in your rallies, then what was the reason for these so called rallies? Today our government is giving pension to one crore people. We presented a separate budget for the farmers and today the farmer is happy. .”

Speaking about paper leaks, Gehlot reminded BJP that during their times, papers were leaked 13 times. “Our innovations are being discussed across the country. If children start sitting on dharnas, when will they study? Has CBI ever investigated paper leak cases? Incidents of paper leak have happened in many states of the country. How many states have given CBI an inquiry into paper leak episode?,” CM said.

“Corona management of the state government was excellent. Rajasthan ranks second in GDP in the country. The Centre presented the general budget on Wednesday, wherein, govt reduced budget of everything. The budget of agriculture, MNREGA, medical, tourism sector has been reduced. People are happy with State govt’s work. All of you should talk to PM about ERCP. Health sector is our govt’s priority and we are confident that our government will repeat in Rajasthan as Opposition is not in a position to compete,” Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said.
