Jaipur: The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) at Jaipur Airport arrested a passenger with 897 grams of gold smuggled from Saudi Arabia.
According to sources, the DRI got a tip-off about gold being smuggled. Two people who came to receive the passenger were also arrested by DRI.
The passenger had hidden gold in three capsules in his rectum. The market value of the seized gold is around Rs 67.80 lakh. The passenger was on board the flight that reached Jaipur from Saudi Arabia on Thursday.
The Economic Offences Court sent all three to jail on Friday. Directorate of Revenue Intelligence officials are investigating the matter.
