Girl students protest against MLA Balmukund Acharya over hijab row

Jaipur: A large number of government school students surrounded the Subhash Chowk police station in Jaipur on Monday raising slogans and blocked the road. The girl students alleged that Baba Balmukund Acharya during a visit to their school said that hijab will not be allowed and also raised slogans.

Police said that the students of Gangapol Girls School said that Acharya’s statement was not acceptable. The family members of the students also took to the streets in large numbers and demanded action.

Adarsh Nagar MLA Rafiq Khan and Kishanpole MLA Amin Kagzi left the spot with all the girl students. A written complaint has been given by them where the administration has been given two days’ time to take action.
