Gen VK Singh lists achievements of Modi government in last 10 yrs

Jaipur: Union Minister of State for Road Transport, Highways and Civil Aviation, General V.K. Singh addressed a press conference at Hotel Clark Amber in Jaipur on Saturday and enumerated the achievements of PM Narendra Modi's 10-year tenure. During this, he told about the radical changes that have taken place in the fields of road transport, aviation, infrastructure, self-reliance, solar energy, green energy, electrification of railways, hydro energy, and women empowerment.

Singh said that while the length of national highways in India was 90 thousand kilo meters in 2014, after the formation of the Modi government, the length of national highways increased to 1 lakh 60 thousand kilometers. "Till 2014, there used to be 74 airports in the country, whereas, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, their number increased to 148. Not only this, the work of many airports is under construction, after which the number of airports across the country will increase to 200. Historic work has been done in the field of infrastructure in India during the last decade. Due to this, India's economic condition has improved. India's growth rate is increasing at the rate of 6.8 percent. All this has been possible only under the able leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi," he said.

The former General said that coal production in India has been at a record level in the last 5 years. "At the same time, trains like Vande Bharat are being operated in India. Today, the electrification of railways is increasing very rapidly. India is doing research on par with Japan in the field of hydro energy along with green energy" he said.

Singh said that women's power has got special recognition under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. "Through the Nari Shakti Vandan Act, work has been done to provide 33 percent reservation to half the country's population. In 2015 there were only 415 start-ups in the country, today India has reached the third position in the world in the number of start-ups with 1 crore turnover," he said.

Singh also stressed that China has not occupied our land anywhere. "When I retired in 2012, the situation is similar even today. The allegations regarding occupation of Indian land on the China border are false and completely baseless," he said. Additionally he said that Army's morale has not fallen due to the Agniveer scheme. The first batch has started and good results are coming. On the matter of not contesting elections, Singh said that it came to his mind that he does not want to contest elections now.
