Gehlot warns against those inciting casteist sentiments, stresses injustice will not be done with any community

Jaipur: The OBC reservation issue which has sudenly got the politics of state in a state of ‘polarisation’, has now been addressed by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot. Gehlot, on Wednesday, said important things on the issue of OBC reservation and took a dig at those who want to incite caste sentiment on this issue. CM stressed that his government will take care of the interests of OBC youth and ex-servicemen as well, and will not allow injustice to happen to anyone. “Justice will be done to both parties. I did work of harmony between various castes. There is no question of distance even between Gurjars & Meenas,” Gehlot said. On OBC reservation issue, Gehlot govt has made up its mind to protect interests of youth, and for this, formulas of other states have been studied.

Talking to media, CM Gehlot said, “We respect ex-servicemen, we are proud that Raj is also the land of martyrs. The package that I gave after the Kargil war, no one gave it to families of ex-servicemen. The demand by OBC youth is reasonable. There was a technical mistake during previous rule. We have conducted survey in 16 states, the same formula will be applicable in Raj too. We want everyone to discuss & decide.” CM also took a dig at those who are spreading confusion on OBC quota. Harish Chaudhary has objected to CM’s remark on OBC quota. “OBC Sangharsh Samiti did not talk about caste enmity at any level. This is a fight of all classes. Those who are giving this fight the color of caste fight want to divert and delay the issue,” Harish tweeted.
