Gehlot questions secrecy of PKC-ERCP MoU

Jaipur: Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit, former chief minister Ashok Gehlot made a statement regarding the PKC-ERCP scheme.

He said, “Doesn’t the public have the right to know about the agreement?” He expressed surprise that there have been continuous demands from the CM regarding the status of the agreement, but the Chief Minister has not commented on it. Gehlot said, “It is being said that the secret agreement does not include provisions for irrigation.”

He added, “This is the first time I am hearing that government agreements are being kept secret.” Commenting on PM Modi’s visit, Gehlot further said, “Delays have been deliberately made in the refinery project,” and “Deliberate delays are also being made in the ERCP.”

Gehlot suggested that those in power want to credit the previous government for the work. He concluded by saying, “We have never stopped work that serves the public interest.”
