GEHLOT, PILOT AMONG 40 TO STEAL SHOW

Jaipur: The Congress has named Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, former Deputy CM Sachin Pilot, senior leader Ajay Maken among 40 leaders as the star campaigners for the bypoll to Sardarshahar assembly constituency. The names of Ashok Gehlot loyalists — Shanti Dhariwal, Mahesh Joshi and Dharmendra Rathore, who were given notices by the AICC — were not included in the list. However, the list includes the name of Ajay Maken who has offered to quit as the State in charge. Thirteen Ministers of the Gehlot Government have been made star campaigners. Pilot loyalist Ministers Murari Lal Meena and Brijendra Ola were also included in the list. PCC Vice President Naseem Akhtar, Ministers BD Kalla, Pratap Singh Khachariawas, Lalchand Kataria, Mamta Bhupesh, Ramlal Jat, Pramod Jain Bhaya, Tikaram Jully, Saleh Mohammad, Govind Meghwal, Bhanwar Singh Bhati, Ashok Chandna are included in the list. Other leaders include Chandrabhan, Rajendra Pareek, Narendra Budania, Rajkumar Sharma, Krishna Poonia, Manoj Meghwal, Ruparam, Hakim Ali, Jagdish Jangid, Rafeek Khan, Ganesh Ghoghara, Manisha Pawar, Amit Chachan, Rehana Riyaz, Khanu Khan Budhwali, Hem Singh Shekhawat, Abhishek Choudhary, Dungram Gaidar, Kishanlal Jedia, Maqbool Mandelia and Rajendra Mood. The Congress has fielded party leader and State Economically Backward Classes Board’s chairman Anil Sharma as its candidate for Sardarshahar bypoll. Sharma is the son of veteran Congress leader and former Sardarshahar MLA Bhanwar Lal Sharma, who died on October 9 this year. The bypoll will be held on December 5 and the result declared on December 8.
